I. Preparation
1) Tools nedded:
a) + screwdrivers (a.k.a. Phillips screwdriver, small, medium, and large)
b) Torx screwdrivers (T10, T6)
c) mallet (when necessary)
d) lock ring wrench (available at Tokyu Hands) or stock pipe wrench.
2) Fire gun at semi to leave piston at rest
3) Remove battery
II. Upper Frame Disassembly
1) Remove frame lock pin (front).
2) Pull thingying lever slightly to disengage the lock and pull the upper receiver away from the lower receiver
3) Remove the bolt blowback parts as shown in the image below:
III. Stock Disassembly
1) Remove stock by pulling the stock lock lever slightly while pulling the stock away from the stock tube
2) Remove the 3 screws shown below, and remove the wire cover
3) After removing the wire cover, remove the spring that below the terminals in the stock tube.
4) Unscrew stock ring
5) Remove buffer
6) Unscrew stock pipe. CAUTION: the spring guide is in the stock pipe so removal will cause the main spring's tension to be released
IV. Lower Receiver Disassembly
1) Remove motor and grip (same as current M4/M16/M733)
2) Remove lock pin as shown below. Note: the rear frame lock pin is a dummy.
3) Raise mechbox slightly and remove the bolt catch
4) Remove magazine catch (same as current M4/M16/M733)
5) Remove mechbox from lower receiver
V. Mechbox Disassembly
1) Remove 4 screws as shown:
2) Carefully remove the screw indicated below. This is a spring loaded mechanism for the bolt stop function.
3) After removing the bolt stop mechanism (spring indicated by an arrow), remove the last screw
4) Remove the mechbox shell. Be careful for there are still 2 springs, the tappet plate spring and the trigger spring.
