replacing pinion gear made easy with KOSE pinion gear puller and guide for motor general cleaning. (for short AEG motor)
my style-
;D
tools and materials needed:
1. pinion gear puller
2. long nose plier
3. vise-grip
4. lighter or torch (for heating)
5. portable clamp (optional)
6. metal epoxy
7. hammer
8. tissue paper, cotton buds
9. silicon spray
10. allen wrench/driver
step 1- use a lighter or torch to heat the stripped pinion gear for about 5-4 minutes.
step 2- when the pinion gear is hot enough, place the pinion gear puller. wrap the tool with tissue paper or cloth to prevent from scratches.hold it with vise-grip and twist the knob clockwise with extra force using a plier. see image to follow.
pinion gear is removed
step 3- remove the spring clips, brushes, and bolts/screws, then gently pull the motor end cap
step 4- after taking off the motor end cap,use a long nose plier to hold the armature plate and twist it counter clockwise then pull it out from the housing.
step 5- gently pull it out the armature
the motor is now completely disassembled and ready to dissect
step 6- cleaning , use all your cleaning resources( cotton, damp clothes, silicon oil, dust remover oil and etc.) to clean the entire motor from inside part to outside part
step 7- bearing lubrication ( i use Eagle RC bearing oil )
after cleaning and lubricating, place back all the motor parts on it's right position.
note: do not put oil or any solvents on the magnets, make sure that it is cleaned and dry.
step 8- "placing the new pinion gear".
after assembling the motor, put small amount of metal epoxy/adhesive on the motor shaft and inside the hole of the pinion gear
step 9- use a clamp to hold the entire motor body. then start to tap the pinion gear on with a hammer
now my systema motor has a new pinion gear installed and ready to strike again
